I LOVE this costume. My mom made this for her in one night. She was the cutest little caterpillar. She had a ton of fun and got a lot of candy for mom and dad. Actually, I think she hates Halloween now after like ten costume changes and the party at the church. She hasn't been feeling well and all she wanted to do was go to bed. She is so congested. She has been sleeping in her car seat to keep her more upright. We've tried saline drops, and the snot sucker. Any other suggestions?
so so so adorable. Your mom did such a great job on the costume, I'm sure she got all kinds of compliments:). We should have been there for sure.
Two-three suggestions: (my kids are snot nosed, asthma breathing kings and queens:) )...a humidifier going in your room (or wherever she's sleeping) all night, it keeps the air moist,
a hot bath with menthol baby bath right before bed (it's Johnson's bath stuff for "babies with colds"-it's kinda light teal in color, smells minty, it says for babies older than 6 months, but Dr. Q said it was fine.) Anyways, they sell it at Target-I haven't seen it many other places, it's great though-kinda opens them up a little to breathe better.
If she gets really congested in the night, run the shower with the hottest water it can pump, and just sit in the bathroom with the steam-it does wonders--calms them down and opens their lungs and noses a bit to get them through the night. (We've had many a 3am "shower" for Miss Breklinn Asthma girl.
sorry for the extra long comment...I really don't know everything like it appears on the comment...those have just been helpful for us. Love you! Hope to be calling you soon with baby news...this kid just appreciates the womb more than I do:).
Bella's been having the same problem - FINALLY getting over it. I think. I heard once you can put vapor rub (or something) on their feet, but I heard it on the radio so definitely never tried... we've had her sleep in her car seat or swing to help her breathe. no fun at all.
i've heard of the vaporub on the feet too--I actually think it works. The other thing-elevation, I put Brek in the swing, car seat and then finally we put a pillow under her mattress to make it tilted. Thought of those later.

What a sweet little bug!
The vicks on the feet with socks thing really does work!!!! Not sure why... but works for both kids!
After EmJ's hospital stay we bought a different humidifier and put it in her room. (we got the one with the warm steam!) It's awesome.
